Wanted to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended or tuned into the Cherry Blossomz Holiday concert at Sacramento Betsuin!

Fun fact: Most of our rehearsals for this show were virtual, due to everyone living so far away from each other. We were a little nervous (ok, very nervous haha), but overall very grateful to sing with each other in-person, live, and in front of an amazing audience, for the first time in years!

A new year…
The holiday season has been quite emotional for me. I’m so happy to be where I am in life, surrounded by the most amazing fam/friends/community. And at the same time, I’m nostalgic for simpler times with loved ones who aren’t around in the same way anymore.
I’ve been missing my mom and grandmas so much recently. In celebration of my mom’s birthday (Dec 29th), I’m sharing this quote that someone told me some years ago.
Among the many life lessons I’ve learned from Mama, the one that’s been loudest for me lately is appreciating what and who is around you. I saw a rainbow today, and instantly remembered her sense of wonder and joy when seeing one :) She also used to tell me VERY often how lucky I was to have such amazing people in my life. Appreciating the little [and big] things makes life so rich and meaningful.
So my only end-of-year message to anyone reading this… is a heartfelt ‘thank you’… <3
